The Final Five: aka Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Aly Reisman, Laurie Hernandez, and Madison Kocian. These ladies kicked so much gymnastics butt that the competition for everyone else was for 2nd place. These young women worked so hard and it shows; they pulled far ahead in the competition to win the Gold.
Simone Biles is a good ole’ Texas girl (H-town represent!) who began her gymnastics career at age 6, and has won 3 World Championships (GET IT).
Gabby Douglas is a returning Olympian, having won Gold in the 2012 Olympics.
Aly Reisman is also a returning champion, and will compete alongside/against her teammate, Simone Biles, in the Individual All-Around competition. I can’t get enough of her floor routine. FLAWLESS.
Laurie Hernandez is the epitome of sunshine. Her attitude helped elevate the team’s mood and I’d love for her to be my new BFF (CALL ME, LAURIE).
Madison Kocian was originally placed on the team for her Uneven Bars routine, but she has shown that she deserves every bit of the Team Gold as her teammates.
The Team competition may be over, but tune in tomorrow for the Individual All-Around competition!
