Freeform recently announced its updated programming slate, with returning shows including “Baby Daddy,” as well as the addition of multiple new shows. One highly anticipated newcomer is “Famous In Love,” from “Pretty Little Liars executive producer I. Marlene King and Warner Horizon Television.
The show, described as a one-hour soapy drama putting the spotlight on the dark side of fame, has officially begun production in Los Angeles. “Famous in Love” boasts an accomplished cast, starring Bella Thorne (“The DUFF”), Carter Jenkins (“The Following”), Charlie Depew (“The Amazing Spiderman”), Georgie Flores (“CSI”), Niki Koss (“My Stepdaughter”), Pepi Sonuga (“The Fosters”), Keith Powers (“Straight Outta Compton”) and Perrey Reeves (“Entourage”).
The story will bring drama, romance, and mystery to audiences.
Based on the novel by Rebecca Serle, the story follows ordinary college student Paige (Bella Thorne) as she gets her big break landing the starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster. Now, she faces the ups and downs of a life in the spotlight, as well as grappling with an undeniable chemistry with her two co-leads. Meanwhile, Paige works to find the truth about what happened to a famous missing pop star. Being the new ‘It Girl’ in town is hard work.
Serle will co-executive produce with I. Marlene King. Executive producers also include Christopher Fife (“Revenge”), Miguel Arteta (“Getting On”) and Dan Farah (“Ready Player One”). The series is produced by Long Lake Media, Farah Films, and Carmina Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Horizon Television.
According to IMDb, “Famous In Love” is set to premiere in June 2017.
