Why the End of The Hunger Games Era Will Be an Emotional One

Tributes! We are only a few days away until The Hunger Games last installment, Mockingjay Part 2 hits theaters everywhere. It’s over after this, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. Do you?

The Hunger Games trilogy first swept away our hearts when the books were released, then came the incredible movies. Since the release of The Hunger Games (movie) back in March 2012, the anticipation for the sequels grew every year until now, November, 2015. Now we must say goodbye, as Mockingjay Part 2 will be the last in the trilogy. I know it’s going to be a real tear jerker. (I’ve read the books!) But, also knowing that there will be no new Hunger Games in 2016 makes me sad. I don’t know if I’m ready to say goodbye to this dear friend.

I’ve been on a journey with Katniss Everdeen. I’ve followed along intensely as she’s seeked justice from the evil President Snow, tried to save her family and friends, and stood up for what she believed was right. My Katniss and Peeta feels EXPLODED, because of the struggles they’ve faced alone and together. My heart raced in theaters during every intense moment, and I don’t know if there will ever be a series like The Hunger Games again.

So, join me in stocking up in tissues and let’s watch this installment come to a mighty end.
