AMC is set to launch a 16 part web series titled, Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462, after the conclusion of Fear the Walking Dead’s season finale this Sunday, October 4.
The web series, much like Fear the Walking Dead, takes place during the early stages of the zombie apocalypse and will be centered around a group of people aboard a commercial airplane after it’s found that one of its passengers is infected.
Per the press release from AMC:
Subsequent episodes of “Flight 462,” each less than one minute long, will debut every Sunday, online and then on-air as promos during new episodes of “The Walking Dead,” for the duration of season 6. In addition, one of the characters featured in the web series, which is produced by “Fear the Walking Dead” showrunner and executive producer Dave Erickson and co-executive producer David Wiener, will join the cast of “Fear the Walking Dead” season 2.
“‘Flight 462’ is a great extension of the world of ‘Fear’ and will engage fans across multiple platforms with another riveting story set at the start of the fall of civilization,” said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and Sundance TV. “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Dave Erickson and David Wiener on another piece of original content. Watching how they’ll bring one of these new characters to the second season of ‘Fear’ will be really exciting for viewers to follow.”
It looks like AMC will continue to be the destination for all things zombie. Season six of The Walking Dead is set to premiere on October 11, 2015.
